Dr. Saeed Fathi set up Avrafa Ltd in 2022 to make product development accessible to visionary life scientists in pursuits of their solutions impacting people lives. Serving as a chief engineer, product developer and fractional leader in their team, he, along with his team of experts, empowers early-stage ventures in accelerating their growth.
Based in Cambridge-UK, Dr. Fathi brings over 20 years of engineering and product development experience, with the past 15 years dedicated to leading full-cycle product development within life sciences. He has successfully led 10 products to market, spanning life science microscopy, cell and gene therapy, synthetic biology, and multi-omics spatial biology applications. Building the foundation of his network of expertise in engineering and manufacturing, in companies such as GE HealthCare and Cytiva, he has been supporting early-stage life science ventures since 2020 in their rapid growth phase.
Dr. Fathi holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a research fellowship in Bioengineering at the University of Cambridge-UK where he developed imaging based single cell isolation and printing platform. He has over 30 research publications and patents, and has become a Chartered Engineer at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers-UK, since 2014.
